Q. My honed black granite looks streaky, (from sealer application). How do I remove the sealer or do I need to re-sand the stone? A. You may have to call in a stone restoration pro on this. But try this first: Pour some acetone (the kind you get in a hardware store, not fingernail polish remover) on a white rag and try wiping it down. If that does not work for you try something a little stronger, like furniture stripper (with MEK). Don't go right to the MEK first. It is harsh stuff. Be sure to use all safety precautions. If you do need to bring in a stone restoration and maintenance pro, you can find one in your area here: http://stoneandtilepros.com/findapro |
